Prof. Philip N. Lockhart, 82, died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2011. He was retired from the Asbury J. Clarke Chair of Latin at Dickinson College, Carlisle.
He was born May 3, 1928, near Smicksburg, Indiana County, a son of the late J. Donald and Margaret (North) Lockhart. His early years were spent on the family farm on which he was born. He attended one-room country schools and graduated from Punxsutawney High School.
In 1950, Prof. Lockhart graduated with a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania. He held an M.A. from the University of North Carolina and a doctorate from Yale University.
Anthony P. Marzucco Jr., 82, loving husband, father and grandfather, Lewis Run, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2011, at Christ the King Manor, DuBois, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born Aug. 26, 1928, in Lewis Run, a son of the late Anthony and Angeline (Paulo) Marzucco.
June 27, 1953, in St. Francis Church, he married Loretta (Yonker) Marzucco, who survives.
Mr. Marzucco attended Bradford schools.
He was employed by the Hanley Brick Company, the Erie Railroad and then Dresser Manufacturing, from which he retired in 1989.
Roger M. Mott, 67, Punxsutawney, died Monday, Feb. 21, 2011, at his home.
Mr. Mott was born Aug. 17, 1943, in Washington, D.C., a son of the late Charles M. and Charlotte Mae (Wilton) Mott.
Mr. Mott was a loving father and grandfather who enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and just spending time with his family and friends.
He was a self-employed welder before retirement.
