Martha Irene (Weaver) Alcorn, 93, Punxsutawney, formerly of Ringgold, died Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2011, at Wellington Heights.
She was born May 29, 1918, in Ringgold, a daughter of the late Franklin and Nellie (Caylor) Weaver.
Dec. 9, 1939, she married Harry W. Alcorn, who preceded her in death May 14, 1992.
A homemaker, Mrs. Alcorn was a member of the Ringgold United Methodist Church.
Patricia A. McLaughlin, 67, DuBois, formerly of Hazen, died Saturday, Dec. 24, 2011, at Christ the King Manor in DuBois.
She was born March 1, 1944, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late John and Grace (Dinger) Hollenbaugh.
She married Alvin York McLaughlin, who preceded her in death Aug. 31, 2002.
Mrs. McLaughlin was a member of the Lighthouse Community Church in Brockway.
She enjoyed gardening, fishing, reading and painting.
Mrs. McLaughlin was retired. She had been employed at S&T Bank in Brookville for 19 years.
Kelvin Riley Lindemuth, 57, Mayport, passed away Saturday, Dec. 24, 2011, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.
Mr. Lindemuth was born Jan. 19, 1954, in Texas.
He was a graduate of Brookville High School, and he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Surviving relatives include his mother, Florence M. Lindemuth; and his daughter; Amanda Dawn McLaughlin and husband Jon of Chico, Calif.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 pm Thursday, Dec. 29, 2011, at the McCabe Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.
Arthur James Whitesell, 80, Punxsutawney, died Saturday, Dec. 24, 2011, at Mulberry Square Elder Care & Rehabilitation Center.
He was born March 23, 1931, in Grange, a son of the late Floyd M. and Fannie L. (Gaston) Whitesell.
Nov. 16, 1957, he married the former Bessie I. Horner, who preceded him in death Sept. 7, 1998.
Mr. Whitesell served as a corporal in the U.S. Army with the 8th Army Headquarters in Seoul, Korea, from 1952 to 1954.
He was a member of the Grange Church of God.
Mr. Whitesell worked and retired as a mailman from the U.S. Postal Service.
Guy J. Gattuso, 91, Punxsutawney, died Saturday, Dec. 24, 2011, in Asheville, N.C.
He was born Jan. 2, 1920, in Punxsutawney, a son of the late Joseph and Mary (Longo) Gattuso.
He was a member of Saints Cosmas & Damian Roman Catholic Church.
Mr. Gattuso was a veteran of World War II and the Korean conflict.
He was a member of the American Legion John Jacob Fisher Post No. 62, the Robinson-Morrison Post of the VFW and the Punxsutawney Senior Center.
For a number of years, he was a regular member of the Polka Club.
Gloria Jean Hipple Rhodes, 70, Clarion, died Saturday, Dec. 24, 2011, at her home after a heroic battle with pancreatic and liver cancer.
Gloria was born Aug. 22, 1941, in Titusville. She was the daughter of the late Jeanne (Russell) Hipple Williams and the late Harold Hipple. She was the step-daughter of the late Harry Williams.
May 27, 1995, she married the love of her life, Arnie Rhodes. They shared sixteen-and-a-half years together.
Gloria was known as “Duchess of the Kane District,” where Arnold served as District Superintendent of the United Methodist Church.
Mary A. Craven, 79, Punxsutawney (Hamilton area), died Sunday, Dec. 25, 2011, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.
She was born March 13, 1932, in Marchand, a daughter of the late Richard P. and Ruth (Lewis) Enterline.
Dec. 16, 1950, she married Milton L. Craven Sr., who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Craven was a member of the Grange Church of God.
