Dannie Allen Austin, 65, Punxsutawney, passed away, Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2011.
He was born June 14, 1946, in Hanson, Ky., a son of the late Rufus Elbert and Girdie Lee (Ruby) Austin.
He was married to Christine J. (Stoffella) Austin, who survives, for 31 years.
Mr. Austin loved his family and friends above all else. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and the outdoors.
Donald J. Frye, 65, DuBois, died suddenly at home Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2011.
He was born July 8, 1946, in Rochester Mills, a son of the late Blair and Edna (Leasure) Frye.
He was married to Karen (Shaffer) Frye, who survives.
Mr. Frye served for 15 years with Company B, 728th Maintenance Battalion of the Clearfield National Guard. He was a retired railroad trackman for the B&O and Conrail Railroads.
He was a volunteer for the AARP and Protestant by faith, an active member of the Tri-County Church of God.
John A. (Bid) Pape Sr., 93, of Punxsutawney, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2011, at St. Andrews Village in Indiana.
He was born April 5, 1918, in Punxsutawney, a son of the late Carmen and Concetta (Nace) Pape.
Feb. 3, 1940, he married Carolyn (Brown) Pape, who preceded him in death April 9, 1991.
Mr. Pape was a member of Ss. Cosmas & Damian Roman Catholic Church.
He was an avid boxer and baseball player in his youth and went on to play professional baseball as a catcher with the Detroit Tigers in 1941.
