November 29th
Janis Lee Hitchings, 63, Paris, Ky., passed away Thursday, Nov. 25, 2010, at the Hospice Care Center.
She was born Sept. 2, 1947, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of Elizabeth (Anibaldi) Esposito and the late Gerald Esposito.
She was married to Gary Hitchings, who preceded her in death.

In memory of Edward W. Johnson, son of Robina Johnson Fairbanks, of Horseheads, N.Y., formerly of Punxsutawney, who passed away Oct. 25, 2010, in his home with his family around him after a long illness.
His wife, Audrey, and four children survive him: Edward Johnson Jr. of Cedar Point, Ill., Richard of Andover, N.Y., Nancy Peterson of Mountaintop, and Timothy of Horseheads; a brother and sister-in-law, Arnie and Vonette Fairbanks of Punxsutawney; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held Oct. 30, 2010, at the Haughy Funeral Home in Corning, N.Y.
Ruth A. Kunselman, 85, Reynoldsville, died Saturday, Nov. 27, 2010, at Mulberry Square Elder Care & Rehabilitation Center, Punxsutawney.
She was born March 13, 1925, in Winslow Township, a daughter of the late Eugene W. and Esther A. (Strouse) Sprague.
Sept. 5, 1947, she married Harry F. Kunselman, who survives, of Reynoldsville.
Mrs. Kunselman graduated from the Reynoldsville High School Class of 1943, and was a retired employee of Sylvania and Cameron Manufacturing.
She was a homemaker and beloved mother.

Lois E. Miller, 89, Brookville, died Friday, Nov. 26, 2010, at Jefferson Manor Health Center.
She was born Feb. 18, 1921, in Limestone Township, a daughter of the late Jerome W. Reinsel and Marie Antoinette Kerr Reinsel.
Feb. 22, 1941, she married Cameron W. Miller, who preceded her in death.
A homemaker, Mrs. Miller was a member of the Brookville Immaculate Conception Church and Altar Rosary Society.
Gerald C. Justice, 74, formerly of Oliveburg, died Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2010, at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.
He was born Feb. 20, 1936, in Punxsutawney, a son of Mary Josephine Justice.
Jan. 5, 1957, he married Mary Elbel, who survives.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, Mr. Justice served in the Cuban Missile Crisis.
A retired postal carrier and member of the Oliveburg Presbyterian Church, Mr. Justice, an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed spending time with his grandsons and following them in their sporting events.
Vance Hankinson, 51, Punxsutawney, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2010, surrounded by his loving family, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh.
Mr. Hankinson was born Oct. 30, 1959, in Jamestown, NY., a son of Dorothy (Cameron) Painter, who survives, of Rossiter.
He was married to Carol (Byerly) Hankinson, who survives, of Punxsutawney.
Mr. Hankinson was a devoted family man who adored his sons and granddaughter Harper. He touched the lives of many people and will be lovingly remembered by all who knew him.

Gerald C. Justice, 74, formerly of Oliveburg, died Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2010, at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.

Ernest R. Caldwell, 88, formerly of Brookville, died Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2010, at Highland View Health Center, Brockway.
He was born Dec. 29, 1921, a son of the late Wayne J. and Carrie Reed Caldwell.
Mr. Caldwell was married to Lois M. Evans, who survives, for 65 years.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, Mr. Caldwell served in World War II and in the Philippines.
He worked for Humphrey Gas Co., Brookville, and later in the Business/Clerical Department of Brookville Equipment.
November 23rd
John M. Hazlett, 82, Columbus, Ohio, formerly of Boardman, Ohio, died Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010, in Columbus.
He was born April 6, 1928, in Frostburg, the son of Mark and Helen (Gould) Hazlett.
He was married to his wife of 56 years, F. Louise Hazlett, who preceded him in death.
A 1946 graduate of Punxsutawney High School, Mr. Hazlett earned a private pilot’s license at age 17 and served the U.S. Navy as an Air Corps V-5 flight officer, then V-6 Reservist.
