BROOKVILLE â Friday, the Jefferson County Salary Board unanimously approved Michelle Fusco, the current adult victim witness coordinator, to take over as coordinator of the juvenile victim witness program.
The programâs current coordinator, Dan Leonard, is retiring.
District Attorney Jeff Burkett made the motion, which was seconded by Jeff Pisarcik, county commissioner, to add the juvenile position to Fuscoâs job description.
REDWOOD CITY, Calif. â Thatâs right: Itâs here again, and according to the now-retired teacher who keeps track of such, well, oddities, there are only two more such dates left in this century.
Once again, today â July 9, 2011 â is Odd Day, according to Ron Gordon, who recently retired as a teacher in the Sequoia-Union School District in Redwood City, Calif.
If youâre still confused: Today is Odd Day because the date â 07.09.11 â is a correct sequence of odd numbers.
BROOKVILLE â Hoping to put Jefferson County on the map, officials recently created a natural gas task force, with county Commissioner Jeff Pisarcik serving as chairman.
According to Director of Economic Development John Weible, the group is in the early stages of formation, but seeks to debut at the Pennsylvania Gas Expo 2011, which will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 21 at the IUP Kovalchick Complex in Indiana.
The purpose of the expo is to seek and bring businesses and the public together to educate and network about Marcellus Shale.

- 2:30 to 3 p.m. â Bubbling & Juggling.
- 3 to 4 p.m. â Grandpa Cratchet.

PUNXSUTAWNEY â Fifteen Fresh Air Fund kids â between six and 18 years of age â arrived at SS.C.D. Tuesday.
The boys and girls were welcomed with open arms from local host families for a fun-filled week or more mini-vacation.
Some of the youngsters left their New York City homes for the first time, while others returned to visit the same host family for consecutive summers.

PUNXSUTAWNEY â The Punxsutawney Eagle Riders motorcycle club its revving up for its first-ever âBurrow Thunderâ Saturday.
The 76-mile trip â which will be held rain or shine â departs from the F.O. Eagles No. 1231 parking lot.
Proceeds from the event will benefit Special Olympics.
Registration begins at 10 a.m. Saturday, with the ride departing at noon and returning by 5 p.m.
