Carlisle, Pa. â€” Following a recall by Wawona Packing Company, GIANT Food Stores, LLC and MARTINâ€™S Food Markets announced it removed from sale its organic peaches and nectarines and certain Orchard Perfect peaches, nectarines and plums due to the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.
The following products are included in this recall:

â€¢ Orchard Perfect Nectarines, PLU 4378 and PLU 4036
â€¢ Orchard Perfect Peaches, PLU 4044 and PLU 4038

PUNXSUTAWNEY â€” The Mayor of Punxsutawney admitted to the members of Borough Council that he made a mistake when he prematurely hired two people as part-time dispatchers at the Punxsutawney Borough Police Department.

The Lindsey Fire Company recently made Kevin Wachob of Big Run an honorary member of the fire company.

The Luminaria Ceremony is one of the most powerful parts of the Relay for Life, which was held over the weekend in Barclay Square.
As the light faded on the day, attendees gathered for a time to remember those who have been lost to cancer, to support people who are currently battling cancer and to honor those who have fought it in the past.

An excursion will be given over the B. R. & P, railroad to Kinzua bridge on Sunday, August 5th. The train will leave Punxsutawney at 8:30 a.m., arriving at the bridge at 4 p.m.

Just after 9 p.m. on Thursday evening, local fire crews were called into action for a working shed fire near 411 Main St. in Anita.
Crews contained the fire to the shed, but it was completely destroyed.
No further details were immediately available.
