CLARION COUNTY â While Jefferson County's fair festivities wind down with a full schedule of events Saturday evening, our neighboring county â Clarion â is gearing up for its own full schedule at the Clarion County Fair, which opens Sunday, and Clarion Fair Secretary Julie Evans and the rest of the officers and board of directors are inviting all to take part in the event and enjoy themselves.

Just after 9 p.m. on Thursday evening, local fire crews were called into action for a working shed fire near 411 Main St. in Anita.
Crews contained the fire to the shed, but it was completely destroyed.
No further details were immediately available.

PUNXSUTAWNEYâ Melissa Powell is a familiar face. You may recognize her as a registered nurse at the Punxsutawney Area Hospital, where she works in the ER.
Thursday, The Medicine Shoppe celebrated the grand opening of its second location at the new Primary Health Network building on Prushnok Drive.
Polka lovers united at Thursday night's Music in the Park when the polka band Vagabonds took the stage.
Joining in the festivities were Punxsy Polka Club members John Como and dancing partner Dee Crawford, pictured here showing off some polka moves.
Members of the Punxsy Polka Club even had their own front-row seats for the show!
The 2014 edition of music in the park continues at 6:30 p.m. tonight with the polka band The Vagabonds. Snacks and drinks will be available, and attendees are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs.
PUNXSUTAWNEY â When it comes to churches, our town has a variety. Some have been in this town for more than a hundred years, while others came much later.
Starting a church is more difficult then anyone would imagine. Much like a business, it takes a lot to get established, and there are a lot of steps that go on behind the scenes.
