A special Legislature Farewell Breakfast was held in honor of PA State Representative Sam Smith early Friday morning. Smith will not be running for re-election and will be stepping down and taking a much-deserved rest. At the breakfast, which was hosted by the Punxsutawney Area Chamber of Commerce, Smith was presented with a special clock, a gift from

The Punxsutawney Chucks re-claimed the Route 36 Rivalry trophy on Friday night with a 47-6 victory over the Brookville Raiders.
Punxsy was dominant on both sides of the ball, making for a long night for the Raiders.

Members of the CREATE Brookville Photo Club opened their first group exhibit at the CREATE Cafe last Friday. The Photo Club meets at 9 a.m. on the last Saturday of the month. Every month, members get a new assignment and use social media to post and critique one another's work.
Would your son like to throw a pie into a Cub Scout leaderâ€™s face? It may not sound all that nice, but itâ€™s all in good fun, as any boy in 1st through 5th grades could have that chance. Those interested in scouting can find out how by coming to Grace United Methodist Church, located below the Punxsutawney Area Hospital, from 6 to 8 p.m. today. Punxsy Cub Scout Pack 245 will be having its sign-ups. Those unable to attend can contact Cub Scoutmaster Greg Kunselman at 952-3400. Pack 245 will be accepting sign-ups until Oct. 1.
