A lot of time and effort go into planning a campaign for a political office, and in the end, it all comes down to one night. Last night was that night in Pennsylvania, and on the ballot, there were three different elections that voters had to choose from. All three of those elections spanned an area larger than Jefferson County, as well.

FAIRVIEW — If you enjoyed the great weather on Tuesday, just hang on, because changes are a-comin'!

Tina Szakelyhidi, a PennDOT snowplow driver who lives in Punxsutawney, said that this is her third winter of plowing snow for PennDOT District 10 out of the Jefferson County Maintenance garage in Fairview, Bell Township, and she talked about how much she loves her job.

BREAKING NEWS: Man wanted in trooper ambush is captured

After a seven-week manhunt, authorities have confirmed trooper ambush suspect Eric Frein has been captured by U.S. Marshals in an abandoned airplane hungar.

Frein was wanted after ambushing two Pennsylvania state troopers, leaving one dead and the other seriously injured.

Going back in time: Historical Society hosts Spirit Walk in Barclay Square

PUNXSUTAWNEY — The Punxsutawney Area Historical and Genealogical Society, along with the Punxsutawney Memorial Library, hosted a Spirit Walk on Tuesday evening. Tour groups were led on a moonlit walk back in time to Barclay Square through the late 19th and early 20th centuries, when Punxsutawney was much different.
