PUNXSUTAWNEY â€” Wednesday eveningâ€˜s Punxsy Area School Board meeting saw a variety of topics being discussed, with one of the main ones being bus stops. Addressing the board were concerned grandparents Bill and Donna Rampe of Church Street on a topic covered earlier this month â€” a bus stop at Church Street.

A special Legislature Farewell Breakfast was held in honor of PA State Representative Sam Smith early Friday morning. Smith will not be running for re-election and will be stepping down and taking a much-deserved rest. At the breakfast, which was hosted by the Punxsutawney Area Chamber of Commerce, Smith was presented with a special clock, a gift from

Punxsutawney Mayor Richard Alexander proclaimed the week of Sept. 17 through Sept. 23 as "National Constitution Week" in Punxsutawney. Constitution Week was initiated by the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). The Punxsutawney Chucks re-claimed the Route 36 Rivalry trophy on Friday night with a 47-6 victory over the Brookville Raiders.
Punxsy was dominant on both sides of the ball, making for a long night for the Raiders.

Members of the CREATE Brookville Photo Club opened their first group exhibit at the CREATE Cafe last Friday.
