It’s a boy! PAH welcomes first baby of 2014

The staff at Expecting You at Punxsutawney Area Hospital welcomed the new year's first baby at 1:54 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 1.

Flue fire proves pesky in N. Mahoning Twp.

Firefighters from four volunteer fire companies battled a stubborn flue fire that had spread into a wall in a house located on Route 210 in North Mahoning Township on Friday.

State officials warn citizens to plan for snow, dangerous cold

HARRISBURG — State health and emergency management officials are urging the public to pay attention to forecasts which currently call for snowfall across much of Pennsylvania into Friday morning, followed by bitterly cold temperatures.

With the onset of the New Year, those elected officials chosen by Jefferson County voters to serve another term — or to begin their first one — appeared at the Jefferson County Courthouse last Thursday to take their oaths of office.
