Members of the Big Run Borough Council held a reorganization meeting Monday evening, at which time Nick Lantz was sworn in as president, John Smeal as borough council member and Laura Lantz as borough tax collector.

The Punxsutawney Area School District's website announced Monday afternoon that school will be closed in the district on Tuesday due to weather conditions.
Temperatures are expected to fall to as low as -12 overnight tonight, and tomorrow's high is expected to be below zero.
Wind chill values could be as low as -38, with wind gusts as high as 33 mph.
Because school is canceled, all athletic events will also be postponed.
