Jefferson County's Youth Field Day, sponsored by the Pennsylvania Game Commission, Northwest Sportsmen for Youth and County Youth Field Day Organizations, was held at Reynlow Park in Reynoldsville on Saturday.
Youth Field Days have taken place annually throughout Pennsylvania since 1991, when they were first held in Venango County.

Punxsutawney Borough Police Chief Tom Fedigan announced that his department will kick off a pedestrian safety awareness and enforcement campaign beginning this week.

PUNXSUTAWNEY — Now that it’s summer vacation time, the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club is inviting Punxsy Phil lovers to participate in a fun contest.
The contest, “Punxsutawney Phil’s Worldwide Adventures," will take Phil lovers and Phil on one fun journey.
The prizes are as follows:
• First Place — Two VIP Tickets for Gobbler's Knob
on Groundhog Day 2014.
• Second Place — Groundhog Club Membership Fleece Jacket.
• Third Place — Gobbler's Knob T-Shirt.

Death of James R. Winslow
June 5, issue of the Daily Alert, Jamestown, North Dakota, contains an account of the death of James R. Winslow, a native of Punxsutawney, and son of the late Miller Winslow, who died a few years ago in California.

REYNOLDSVILLE — Although Wednesday night’s Reynoldsville Borough Council meeting left those in attendance thinking that there might be a delay before the next step came about in the Reynoldsville Borough Police Officer in Charge situation, an unexpected change came about Friday when Bruce Cramer was reinstated.
The ribbon was cut Friday morning for the ATA Transit Center on North Findley Street in Punxsutawney.
Congratulations to Kelly and Chris “Critter” Porada, whose McCalmont Township property was chosen as May’s “Garden of the Month” by the Punxsutawney Garden Club.

PUNXSUTAWNEY — It was an educational night for those who attended the "Exploring Marcellus Shale" presentation, at the Punxsutawney Memorial Library on Thursday evening.

WINSLOW TOWNSHIP – PennDOT Engineering District 10 is advising motorists that a bridge closure will begin on Route 1002 (Wayne Road) on Monday for a bridge replacement project.
The bridge carries Route 1002 over an unnamed tributary in Winslow Township, Jefferson County.
Beginning Monday at 7 a.m., Wayne Road will close between the intersections of Pancoast Road and Sand Spur Road (Clearfield County).
The closure will remain in place until mid-August.
