Sawmill Run Bridge closure stalled for now, Work on Elk Run Bridge resumes

Work resumed on the Elk Run Route 119 Bridge project Monday, the first day that contractor Francis Palo Construction has been able to get into the stream and resume working on the bridge following the high water that occurred Thursday, June 27.

Director of Emergency Services: Recovery from recent flood could take a year or longer in cases

BROOKVILLE — Representatives of the Jefferson County Emergency Management Office and the 9-1-1 center delivered an update at a meeting of the Jefferson County commissioners on the recent flooding that swept through the area nearly two weeks ago.

"Recovery from this flood alone could take a year or longer in some cases," said Tracy Zents, director of Emergency Services.
