Spirit delivery may be delayed

Due to the recent flooding and road closures, delivery of Friday's edition of The Punxsutawney Spirit may be delayed.

If you do not receive your paper, it will be delivered the next day.

Flooding update: Residents can contact Dept. of Emergency Services

The Jefferson County Department of Emergency Services is asking all residents who have experienced any damages to their homes and property due to the severe flooding within the county to please contact the Dept. of Emergency Management at 814-849-5052.

PennDOT has released the following statement on road closures:
The following state roads are closed in Jefferson County due to flooding and will open once the water recedes.
Travel Advisory –State Routes Closed in Jefferson County Due to Flooding

The following state roads are closed in Jefferson County due to flooding and will open once the water recedes.

9 pm Changes:

Route 3031 (Coolspring Road) is open between Route 36 in Oliver Township and Route 3005 (Pansy Ringgold Road) in Beaver Township.

Flooding Update: Areas of Big Run to be evacuated

At 1:53 p.m., the Department of Emergency Services in Brookville issued a statement asking that all residents stay away from the area of Big Run Borough. Steps are currently being taken to evacuate persons in the borough.

BREAKING NEWS: Roads closed due to flooding

June 27, 2013

The following state roads are closed in Jefferson County due to flooding and will open once the water recedes.

Route 3001 (Pheasant Hollow Road) is closed in both directions between Route 3014 (Sprankle Mills Road) in Oliver Township and Route 536 in Ringgold Township (Pheasant Hollow Area.)

Route 536 is closed in both directions between Route 36 in Young Township and Porter Road in Perry Township (Hamilton/Frostburg Area.)
