PUNXSUTAWNEY â€” Following what was a more-than-year-long investigation, the Punxsutawney Borough Police Department reported the arrests of numerous individuals who were allegedly involved in a series of burglaries that occurred in Punxsutawney Borough between May 2012 and April 2013.
The five who were arrested and charged were:
â€¢ Jason Robert Brownlee, 32, Punxsutawney;
â€¢ Ryan J. Brownlee, 26, Punxsutawney;
â€¢ Samantha Lynn Cochran, 18, Punxsutawney;
â€¢ Grayce E. Sutter, 20, Stump Creek;
â€¢ Mindy Murvine, 19, Nanty Glo.
BROOKVILLE â€” When the final precinct results were counted Tuesday night, the results showed that Punxsyâ€™s most interesting race â€” the one that would decide who would be Punxsyâ€™s next mayor â€”Â went to Richard Alexander.
A total of 7,948 votes were cast across the county in the unofficial results released by the county.
Alexander earned 55.08 percent of the votes in the mayoral race, with a total of 531. Dennis C. Rebuck ran on the Democratic ticket, earning 156 votes for 16.18 percent of the total.
