BAKED TO PREVENTION: Fox’s annual fire department fundraiser brings in $50,000

PUNXSUTAWNEY — For the 12th year in a row, Fox's Pizza Den in Punxsutawney on Saturday set another record for pizza and coupon card sales for Pizza and Prevention, with the proceeds going to the Punxsutawney Fire Department.

Scott Anthony, owner of Fox's Den in Punxsutawney, said that they sold 5,392 pizzas — which calculates to a little over $50,000 and includes $9.11 charged for each pizza or pizza coupon sold, including tips for one day of sales from 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Saturday.

CHEERING FOR AWARENESS

At Friday’s game against Clarion-Limestone, the Punxsutawney Area High School cheerleaders sported their pink T-shirts which read, "Let's tackle this together" as a part of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
