PUNXSUTAWNEY — Gustavo Franco, M.D., Punxsutawney Area Hospital's most recent addition to the position of general surgeon, has traveled a long road to end up in Punxsutawney, but since he took over for former general surgeon Dr. Kaufman, Franco says he's really starting to get the feel for the small-town life.
REYNOLDSVILLE — DuBois-based Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the death of a two-and-a-half-year-old Reynoldsville boy stemming from an incident that took place on Grant Street Extension in the Reynoldsville Borough at 8 a.m. on Thursday.
Police are being assisted in the investigation by the Reynoldsville Ambulance Service, the Reynoldsville Police Department, the Jefferson County District Attorney's Office and the Jefferson County Coroner's Office.
The investigation is ongoing.
PUNXSUTAWNEY — With Groundhog Day just around the corner, Punxsutawney Phil's Souvenir Shop is offering some new and exciting items.
Punxsy Phil fans can check out either the souvenir shop or the online shop at GroundhogStuff.com, which offers the same souvenirs but at a convenience for those unable to travel. The online store has been operating since 2000.
There’s been another Elvis sighting in the area! Thursday night, the residents of Mulberry Square Elder Care & Rehabilitation Center enjoyed a wonderful performance by Elvis impersonator Scott Allegretto.
Allegretto is a Weedville resident who has been performing as an Elvis impersonator for five years.
His award-winning Elvis tribute captured the attention of the weekly series "We are Central PA Live."
Allegretto had the chance to perform on the show this past Tuesday, which also happened to be Elvis' birthday.
