PUNXSUTAWNEY — It's that time of year to dust off the lawnmowers and cut the grass — and property owners who don't will be hearing from Punxsutawney code enforcement officer Mary McHenry.
"The lawn mowing season began a little bit earlier than last year with the warm weather back in March, which has caused grass mowing violations to start early,” McHenry said.
Many people have mowed their grass a couple of times already, which causes those who haven't to stick out.
PUNXSUTAWNEY — The drivers in a two-vehicle accident were injured in a head-on crash that occurred at 7 a.m. Saturday along Route 119 in front of the Country Villa Motel and Wal-Mart in Young Township, police reported.
According to Punxsutawney-based State Police, a 2002 Nissan Sentra driven by Kristen M. Woods, 29, Big Run, was traveling north on Route 119 when she fell asleep at the wheel, causing her vehicle to drift through the center turn lane and into the oncoming southbound lane, striking a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado driven by John L. Parise, 60, Punxsutawney.
