PUNXSUTAWNEY â The 2012 holiday season officially gets underway in this area at 7 p.m. Friday Nov. 23, and 2 p.m. Saturday Nov. 24, when Van â¨Dyke and Company and the Mahoning Valley Ballet present the perennial favorite, âThe Nutcracker,â on the stage of Punxsutawney Area High School. Directed by Joan E. Van Dyke, the elaborate production features more than 80 dancers performing to the music of Tchaikovsky. The performers, ranging from pre-schoolers to senior citizens, come from Punxsutawney, Clearfield, Clarion, DuBois, Brookville, Indiana, and the surrounding area.
PUNXSUTAWNEY â The members of the senior class at Punxsutawney Area High School have voted six of their fellow classmates onto this yearâs Kingâs Court. The Kingâs Court ceremony will take place during halftime of tonightâs annual Powder Puff football game, which will kickoff at 6 p.m. at Jack F. LaMarca Stadium.
The students at PAHS vote for Kingâs Court in the same manner as Homecoming Queenâs Court and Winter Queenâs Court.
