PUNXSUTAWNEY — If you’ve been driving or walking down East Mahoning Street over the past year, you may have wondered what the changes look like inside the former Mary A. Wilson Elementary School.
This weekend, you’ll get your chance, as an open house will be held at Graystone Court Villas Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Jeff Long, the developer of Graystone Court, said he was able to transform the former school into beautiful apartments through ideas he developed at his 11 other Graystone locations.
The First Church of God in Punxsutawney is hosting another installment of Free Clothing Days Friday and Saturday in the church gymnasium.
Event coordinator Shelley Rowan said the event is in its fifth year, and it takes place every spring and fall.
Rowan said the idea came from always wanting to do a soup kitchen, but with the location not being ideal for a soup kitchen, she decided to provide clothing to folks instead.
Individuals interested in donating clothing can drop off items at the church up until Thursday.
BIG RUN — Big Run Borough Council modified its ordinance regarding the types of animals that are permitted in the borough.
Ordinance No. 221 was passed at Monday's meeting — an ordinance that repealed Ordinance No. 15, said Nick Lantz, Big Run Borough Council president.
