BROOKVILLE â Look out Thin Mints, a new cookie is vying for the spotlight.
In celebration of their organizationâs 100th anniversary, Girl Scouts across America are going door-to-door today, and every day for the next couple of weeks, trying to sell a new cookie: Savannah Smiles.
The new lemon-wedge cookie, described as âcool and crisp, with just the right amount of lemon chips to deliver tiny bursts of flavor,â was introduced to pay homage to the 100th anniversary of Girl Scouting.
PUNXSUTAWNEY â From now until the snow melts, the Punxsutawney Memorial Library ... or the dogs are going to the library.
Beginning this past Thursday, the library kicked off its âTail Wagginâ Tutorsâ program for children ages six through nine.
During the program, the youngsters not only get to take part in reading and crafts, but also work with Sadie and Sara, the stars of âTail Wagginâ Tutors.â
DUBOIS â Reynoldsville resident Douglas Giles recently received a brand-new 2012 Ford Mustang GT for an extremely discounted rate â $5.
It was a normal day for Giles when he went into Backstreet Beer Distributor, in Reynoldsville, and bought a $5 Mustang instant lottery ticket.
He scratched off the ticket and felt the feeling that anyone who has ever bought a ticket hopes for: The excitement of winning a grand prize.
Giles had the choice between $60,000 and a brand new 2012 Mustang GT. The choice was easy for Giles.
âIâve always wanted a Mustang,â he said.
