Coming together again for Church in the Park

July 28, 2011

PUNXSUTAWNEY — A special service that’s been enjoyed by Christians and non-Christians alike, Church In The Park will be held this weekend in Barclay Square.

Jim Pond, pastor at the First United Methodist Church of Punxsy, said this year’s theme is “Come Together” to share God’s love, word, and make disciples.

Pond said those thoughts will all be pulled together during Sunday’s service at 10:30 a.m. in Barclay Square.

Students will receive updated laptop handbook

July 28, 2011

PUNXSUTAWNEY — The 21st Century Learning Initiative has been quite successful since the implementation of “One to One Computing” at PAHS over a year ago, Principal David London said at Wednesday’s school board meeting.

London presented the new 21st Century Learning handbooks to the board for its approval Wednesday.

The district has had “One to One” Computing — in which each high school student has his or her own laptop computer — for the last year-and-a-half, London said. But he wanted to make some changes in the handbook.
