ADRIAN â€” Multiple fire companies responded to a call at AM/PM Personal Care Home in Adrian when smoke alarms went off at approximately 9:30 a.m. Sunday.
Firefighters from seven companies were called to the scene of the facility that houses mostly elderly residents.
Bryan Smith, Elk Run Volunteer Fire Company chief, said there was quite a bit of smoke in the structure when firefighters arrived on scene.
Smith said a short search helped firefighters determine the smoke was coming from an air conditioning unit.

YOUNG TOWNSHIP â€” A driver and passenger were injured in a one-vehicle accident that occurred at 10:35 p.m. Saturday on Snyder Hill Road, Young Township.
According to Punxsutawney-based Pennsylvania State Police, an Acura RSX driven by Jeffrey W. Smith Jr., 22, Punxsutawney, was traveling west on Snyder Hill Road when he lost control of his vehicle while negotiating a left curve in the roadway.

SPLASH has been holding the event for over a decade, and it started out in the Mahoning Creek but has since moved to the pool. Over 750 tickets were sold this year, and all proceeds go toward the pool's maintenance and upkeep.
