BROOKVILLE â Pennsylvania's Empowered Expert Residents (PEERs) are honored annually at a statewide event in Harrisburg for their efforts in advocating for their own quality of life in long-term living facilities.
However, because of the travel distance, PEERs from the northwest region of the state convened at the Heritage House Thursday.
BIG RUN â Police are looking for information regarding vandalism that occurred over the weekend at Veteran's Memorial Park in Big Run.
According to Punxsutawney-based Pennsylvania State Police, sometime between 9 p.m. Friday and 5:20 p.m. Saturday, someone spray painted graffiti on the playground; removed one of the electrical outlet covers from the pavilion; and damaged a picnic table by removing a wooden plank and breaking it into pieces.
Damage to the park is estimated at $200, with the electrical outlet valued at $10.
