PUNXSUTAWNEY — Members of SADD at Punxsutawney Area High School were among students across Pennsylvania sticking it to underage drinking this week.

The event, Project Sticker Shock, runs this week throughout Pennsylvania.

PUNXSUTAWNEY — That shortcut on a rural road to save time could cost you more than minutes if you don’t keep an eye out for horses, buggies and slow-moving farm equipment.
In an effort to reduce farm-related vehicle crashes and to bring awareness to farm safety, PennDOT, the state Department of Agriculture and the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau joined together to promote Rural Road Safety Week at Fezell’s County Market Tuesday.
Shawn Houck, PennDOT press safety officer, said slow-moving vehicles fall under one category, which means they are generally traveling under the speed limit.
PUNXSUTAWNEY — The budget for Riverview Intermediate Unit No. 6 (RIU6) will be short about $177,000, according to the Punxsutawney Area School Board’s representative to the consortium, on account of Gov. Tom Corbett’s proposed budget.
“Right now, with the budget that’s been proposed, they are not getting any money,” Punxsy school board member Penny Pifer told the board last week. “They will be short, about $177,000.”
