November 22, 2011

PUNXSUTAWNEY — Braxton Amundson’s friends and family now know the $10,000 secret he has been keeping for more than three months.

As those who watched the PAHS graduate on “The Price is Right” Monday morning now know, Amundson — son of Eric and Vickie Amundson — had a chance to win $10,000 after he had the closest bid on a set of women’s cosmetic products — which he also won.

As a contestant this past August on the show, Amundson had to correctly guess which four of six products presented were under $2.

According to Punxsutawney-based Pennsylvania State Police, a 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt driven by a 16-year-old female from Punxsutawney was stopped at the stop sign on Rikers Road facing west, waiting to make a left turn onto Route 119.

Police said she failed to see a 1999 Oldsmobile 88 driven by Rick Sherry, 50, Punxsutawney, and pulled out onto Route 119 in front Sherry’s vehicle, which was traveling north.
