Brookville man snags rare albino deer

BROOKVILLE — It’s a rarity for hunters.

But 19-year-old Brookville native Wyatt Long saw an unusual sight on one of his most recent hunting trips.

“I couldn’t believe what I was seeing whenever it showed up,” Long said.
‘It’ being an albino buck, with stark-white fur and bright pink eyes.

“I was all right until after I made the shot, and then I started shaking and breathing heavy, and I got real nervous afterwards,” he said.

Users must register for SchoolReach for new school year

PUNXSUTAWNEY — Parents and guardians who wish to continue to receive information about school delays and cancelations must register for the program again, even if they did so last year.

Monday, Superintendent Dr. Keith Wolfe told the school board while the district will again use the SchoolReach telephone notification system, even those who registered last year must register again.

When board member Bob Pascuzzo asked why, Wolfe said all registrations from the 2010-11 school year will be purged from the system.
