PUNXSUTAWNEY â Wednesday, members of the Punxsutawney Area School Board received a recommendation from the districtâs maintenance department regarding the replacement of a cold water storage tank at Longview Elementary School.
The tank was leaking, but when a maintenance crew went to fix it, another leak started, Superintendent Dr. Keith Wolfe said.
The 1,000-gallon tank is the original to the building, and now, the district is on borrowed time as far as its reliability â maybe a year, said Phil Heitzenrater, district maintenance supervisor.
Each year, five women are chosen by the Punxsutawney Career Womenâs Club for Career Womenâs Week. The criteria used for choosing these women are based not only on their professional efforts, but also on the contributions they have made to community and family.
PUNXSUTAWNEY â It should be a hauntingly good time in Punxsyâs East End during its annual Halloween trick-or-treat night Saturday, with many scary surprises for little and big ghosts and goblins.
If trick-or-treaters are looking for a frightening â yet fun â experience, they should check out the display at the home of Michele âBooâ Lorenzo and Jan Zamperini, 709 East Mahoning St., from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday during East Endâs trick-or-treat night.
Lorenzo said this is the ninth year for her Halloween spectacular, and all for the same reason: For the kids.
