MARION CENTER — Natasha Tinnette Adams, daughter of Joe and Rhonda Adams of Marion Center, was born in the nick of time.
“At 9:45 a.m. (Saturday), my water broke,” Rhonda said. “And I had her at 9:55 a.m.”
Born Saturday, Jan. 1, 2011, Natasha — weighing 6 pounds, 4 ounces, and 18 1/2-inches in length — is the first baby born for 2011 at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.
Actually, Natasha was a week early: Her due date was Jan. 8, Joe said, adding that he and his wife were surprised that Natasha arrived early.
PUNXSUTAWNEY — If you are looking to climb higher, you might want to talk with the Army National Guard, which offers a free outreach program in area schools.
SSG Michael Barnett, Army National Guard recruiter, said schools can take advantage of a variety of free activities and programs.
“We offer these at no charge,” he said, adding that recruiters offer free programs on drug prevention, Prom Promise, history of the National Guard, flag ceremonies and other informational classes.
“All of the recruiters are trained to speak on each of these classes and programs,” Barnett said.
