YOUNG TOWNSHIP â€” The Young Township supervisors voted to place the tentative 2011 budget on display for public inspection with no tax increase.
The proposed 2011 tax millage:
â€˘ Building â€” 0.5 mills; Fire â€” 0.5 mills; General â€” 0.5 mills; Vehicle â€” 0.25 mills.
The total millage is 1.75, which reflects no tax increase.
â€˘ Estimated Liquid Fuels funds for 2011 â€” At the Oct. 13 budget meeting, Lee Kent, secretary/treasurer, said that the estimated Liquid Fuels funds for 2011 were reported as $81,400.
â€˘ Local Services Tax â€” The amount for 2011 will remain at $32.
Members of the Elk Run, Lindsey and Central fire departments were able to contain a brush fire that erupted Saturday afternoon at the Paul Robbins residence in Bell Township. There were no injuries reported. A frightful accident occurred at Big Run last Friday, as a result of which Samuel A. Greene, a photographer of that place, is crazed with grief.
