Robert â€śJohnâ€ť McIntyre, 57, of Jefferson St., Falls Creek, Pa., died Sunday, Jan. 18, 2015, at Christ the King Manor.
Born on April 6, 1957, in Punxsutawney, he was the son of the late Charles and Joan (Dawson) McIntyre.
He served in the United States Army.
John had worked at Airco-Speer Carbon in Punxsy for many years. Recently, he worked for Dworskyâ€™s Environmental Services.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 965 in Falls Creek, The Olympic Athletic Club, and enjoyed fishing and loved the Pittsburgh Steelers.
At 5:59 p.m. on Sunday, the Punxsutawney Borough Police, Punxsutawney Fire Department and Jefferson County EMS responded to a vehicle fire at 312 Beyer Avenue, Punxsutawney. A woman stopped in the street after having engine trouble, and the Punxsutawney Fire Department reported smelling gasoline when responding to the fire. The fire was put out after CAFS (Compressed Air Foam System) was applied to the vehicle. Rebuck's South Side Service towed the vehicle, a 90s-style Plymouth Caravan. No injuries were reported.
Blair O. â€śDickâ€ť Richards, 88, of Bell Township, died Jan. 17, 2015, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.
He was born March 30, 1926, in Sportsburg, a son of the late Violet (Ball) and James Richards.
He was a member of the Sportsburg United Methodist Church and the Perry Township Sportsmanâ€™s Club.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.
He loved hunting, fishing, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
Blair worked at Metals Protection, Barlettaâ€™s Warehouse, and he retired from the Maintenance Department at Punxsutawney Area School District.
Phyllis G. Lute, 72, of Punxsutawney, died Friday, Jan. 16, 2015, at UPMC - Shadyside in Pittsburgh.
She was born March 23, 1942, in Farrell, Pa., the daughter of the late George T. and Helen (Kucharski) Koshar.
She was married to Leland Ray Lute, who preceded her in death on Sept. 23, 1975.
She was a homemaker and worked as a cook at the Lane Avenue Personal Care Home.
She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxillary.
Mildred I. Johnston, 89, of Punxsutawney, died Saturday, Jan. 17, 2015, at DuBois Nursing Home.
She was born March 7, 1925, in Bradford Township, Clearfield County, a daughter of the late Laura (Graham) and John Shomo.
On Oct. 7, 1940, she married Merle E. Johnston, who preceded her in death in May of 1984.
She was a member of the Chestnut Grove Independent Church.
She enjoyed going to church, cooking, baking, doing puzzles and reading.

Alena Gourley said the idea of a running club came from Facebook.
"I am part of a Facebook group where most people are from DuBois, and they post about group runs often, and I had actually driven there to join in.
Last year was the first time I had a running partner and loved how we were able to motivate each other through the dreary winter months," she said.
On Friday night, the Lady Chucks played host to the Lady Owls of Bradford, while the Punxsy boys' team made the long trek to Bradford to take on the Owls.
In both contest, Punxsy came out victorious â€” with the girls earning a 55-25 victory and the boys claiming a 41-37 win.

Josephine Patricia Duffell, known as "Pat," "Grammy" or "Gramma" to those who loved her, went to heaven on Jan. 12, 2015, in Punxsutawney.
She was born in Chicago on July 30, 1920, a daughter of the late Louis and Jeannie Capra.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Duffell. They were married in Chicago in 1946.
They moved to the St. Petersburg, Florida area in 1970 until Pat moved to Punxsutawney in 2013 to be with her family.
Helen Behrendt, 96, of Punxsutawney, died Friday, Jan. 16, 2015, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.
She was born Sept. 23, 1918, in Valier, a daughter of the late Eva (Wagner) and Peter Zelonis.
On May 16, 1935, she married Earl E. â€śPinkyâ€ť Behrendt, who preceded her in death.
Helen enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, gardening, cooking, baking, crossword puzzles and Sunday dinners.
