Blake Bizousky was one of five Punxsy wrestlers to pick up a victory in Thursday night's bout against Redbank Valley. On the scoreboard, the Chucks lost 51-27, but in matches actually wrestled, the tally was much closer, 33-27.

Edna Keller, 100, of Albion, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2015, at the Jefferson Manor.
She was born July 21, 1914, in Coolspring, a daughter of the late Albert and Sara (Himes) Glontz.
Edna always said her longevity in life is living a good Christian life.
The Punxsy Chucks boys' basketball team held on for a victory in a close contest against District IX rival St. Marys on Tuesday night at PAHS.

On Wednesday, Punxsutawney Borough Police released the identity of a man struck by a car at the intersection of S. Gilpin and W. Mahoning streets at 1:43 p.m. on Tuesday.
Police said that a 2006 Aerio driven by Andreana Bump of Meadville was traveling west on W. Mahoning Street, then turned left onto S. Gilpin Street behind an unknown vehicle.
Bump failed to see William Stiles Sr. of Punxsutawney, who was in the roadway, and her car struck Stiles on the right front portion.
PUNXSUTAWNEY â€” On Monday night, members of the Punxsutawney Area School Board officially accepted the resignation of Alan Nichol from the position of head coach of the Chucksâ€™ football squad after six seasons.

The JV and varsity girls' basketball games at Clarion today have been postponed and rescheduled for Wednesday, February 11.
Members of the Punxsutawney Fire Department were called to assist with flooding that occurred at Mulberry Square Elder Care & Rehabilitation Center at 411 West Mahoning St., Punxsutawney, at 9:14 p.m. on Sunday. Firefighters assisted the staff with shutting off the water mains when pipes burst, flooding the one wing. All of the patients in that wing were evacuated to other parts of the facility.
