Dorothy R. Wingard, 58, a resident at Highlandview Health Care Center in Brockway, died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011, at Highlandview Health Care Center, Brockway.
She was born Jan. 11, 1953, in DuBois, a daughter of the late Vern Bloom and Amaryllis (Seyler) Bloom, who survives.
She was married to Richard Wingard, who preceded her in death Nov. 1, 1990.
Mrs. Wingard was a member of the Bible Fellowship Church at Chestnut Grove.
She enjoyed crocheting and animals.
Mrs. Wingard was a homemaker.
Olive V. Koppenhaver, 91, DuBois, died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011, at DuBois Regional Medical Center, DuBois.
She was born Nov. 15, 1919, in Brady Township, a daughter of the late Ernest and Anne Marshall Lee.
July 4, 1941, she married William J. Koppenhaver, who preceded her in death Dec. 22, 1987.
Mrs. Koppenhaver was a 1936 graduate of Brady Township High School and she was a homemaker.
She was also a member of the United Church of Christ in Troutville, and the Brady Grange.
John M. Hollenbaugh, 89, Punxsutawney, died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011, at his daughterâs home in Creedmoor, Texas.
He was born Jan. 3, 1922, in Panic, a son of the late Eli and Mabel (Hayes) Hollenbaugh.
Mr. Hollenbaugh was married to Grace E. Dinger, who preceded him in death June 18, 2008.
He was a member of the United States Army, having served in World War II.
Mr. Hollenbaugh was a member of the Dora Evangelical Church.
He enjoyed woodworking and was a general contractor.
Jean D. Geer Carroll, 85, Brookville, formerly of Sigel, died Sunday, Jan. 16, 2011, at McKinley Health Center, Brookville.
She was born Aug. 2, 1925, in Pitcarin, a daughter of the late Ivan C. and Rebecca Dias.
She was married to Ernest S. Geer Sr., who preceded her in death Aug. 28, 1963. She then married James W. Carroll, who preceded her in death July 17, 1991.
Mrs. Geer Carroll was a homemaker and former owner of Geer Tree Service Inc. of Brookville.

HOLLIDAYSBURG â Numerous turnovers by the Punxsy girls' basketball team led to Hollidaysburg earning a 67-33 victory Friday night.
Punxsy (3-8) trailed 22-4 after the first quarter before the Lady Tigers extended their lead to 37-15 by halftime. During the second half, the Lady Chucks were outscored 30-18.
"We have to learn to handle the pressure," Punxsy head coach Randy Reitz said. "To start the game, we had too many turnovers. We got behind the eight-ball, and we're not a good enough team to overcome that."
PUNXSUTAWNEY â When A.J. Dereume received a phone call from Inner Circle President Bill Deeley one day this past April, he thought he was offering him ice cream.
âThe way that it happened, I was at my house, and Bill Deeley called and asked what size top hat I would like to have,â Dereume said Thursday. âI thought he was at Joeâs Drive-In and was picking up ice cream. I said, âThey only have one size.ââ
As it turns out, Deeley was asking Dereume if he wanted more than just a spring-time treat.
PUNXSUTAWNEY â The Punxsutawney Emergency Management Agency committee continues to make headway in its effort to reorganize the often-ignored borough department.
Agency Coordinator Charlie Hoeh recently told Punxsutawney Borough Council about the progress that the committee has made in the last few months.
âWeâve been meeting once a month as suggested by borough council, and weâre in the process of obtaining all of the emergency plans for all of the high rises and nursing homes in town,â he said.
INDIANA â The Wildcat Regiment Band of Indiana County will participate in the inauguration of Gov.-elect Tom Corbett Tuesday, providing music for the ceremony to be held on the front steps of the state capitol.
The band is a re-creation of the regimental band of the 105th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry, the Wildcat Regiment, formed in 1861 with volunteers from Indiana and surrounding counties, the area known as the Wildcat legislative district.
PUNXSUTAWNEY â Sickness left Ridgway with just nine wrestlers Thursday night, and the Punxsy junior-high wrestling team took advantage of the Elkers' small squad while registering a 61-18 victory at home.
Punxsy (5-1) still out-wrestled Ridgway, earning a slim 19-18 victory on the mats. After that, the Chucks ended the match with seven-straight forfeit wins.
