Ray W. Peace, 84, of Big Run, died Sunday, Dec. 28, 2014, at home.
Arrangements are incomplete and under the direction of Brenda D. Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Big Run.
M. Duane Wells, 72, of Distant, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday afternoon, Dec. 27, 2014, at his residence.
Born on Jan. 4, 1942, in Distant, he was the son of the late Merle B. and Viola M. (Smith) Wells. He was married on Sept. 29, 1961, to Beverly J. (Truitt).
Lyle E. Wachob Sr., 86, of Punxsutawney, died Friday, Dec. 26, 2014, at Mulberry Elder Care and Rehabilitation Center, Punxsutawney.
He was born Oct. 27, 1928, in Punxsutawney, a son of the late Crist and Louise (Brewer) Wachob.
On April 17, 1949, he married Geraldine â€śGerryâ€ť F. Martin, who survives.
He was a member of the First Church of God of Punxsutawney. He worked as a farmer and in excavation.
Lyle enjoyed horses, farming, hunting, his farm dogs, and taking his daily ride around the farm on his four-wheeler.
BIG RUN â€” Pennsylvania American Water Company (PAWC) has announced the start of construction to install a concrete wall to protect the company's Punxsutawney Water Treatment Plant, located on the East Branch of the Mahoning Creek, from flooding during extreme wet weather events.
Josephine Posti, PAWC community relations coordinator, said the cost of this plant improvement is approximately $225,000.

Eleanor E. McCullough, 83, of Punxsutawney, died Thursday, Dec. 25, 2014, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.
She was born Nov. 13, 1931, in Morann, Pa., Clearfield County, a daughter of the late Elizabeth (Holeva) and George Shedlock Sr.
Eleanor graduated in 1950 from Houtzdale Woodward High School, and in 1986 from Punxsutawney Beauty School. She was first married on July 28, 1956, to William G. Budihas, who preceded her in death in 1965. She then married John â€śJackâ€ť McCullough on June 6, 1974. He also preceded her in death on Oct. 13, 1998.
Donald â€śDonnyâ€ť Allen Hopkins Jr., 53, of Rossiter, Pa., formerly of Burnside, Pa., died Thursday, Dec. 25, 2014, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.
The son of Donald A. and Helen L. (Armstrong) Hopkins Sr., he was born on Oct. 6, 1961, in Indiana, Pa.
Donny graduated from Purchase Line High School, as well as the DuBois School of Trades, where he earned a degree in masonry and contracting. He worked as a mason since 1981. For the majority of his career, Donny had been self-employed, working under the name of Donald Hopkins Masonry.

Everett "Chip" Mack Hopkins, 69, of Punxsutawney, died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2014, at home.
He was born on Feb. 8, 1945, in Buffalo, New York, the son of the late James Mack and Marjorie Lucille (Albaugh) Hopkins.
Mr. Hopkins was a U.S. Marine and served in Vietnam.
He married Judith Ann (Long) Hopkins in 1974. She preceded him in death in August 1999.
He was a self-employed construction professional and a member of Union No. 1088 for 32 years.
Regina Marie Cable, 75, of Reynoldsville, died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2014 as a result of a motor vehicle accident.
She was born on Jan. 27, 1939, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late Steve and Louise M. (Astorino) Yasolsky.
She married Harry â€śPeteâ€ť Edward Cable, a military veteran, on July 23, 1960. He survives her.
She was a devoted, caring and loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She was a magnificent homemaker who took great pride in her home.
