Eleanor E. McCullough, 83

December 26, 2014

Eleanor E. McCullough, 83, of Punxsutawney, died Thursday, Dec. 25, 2014, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.

She was born Nov. 13, 1931, in Morann, Pa., Clearfield County, a daughter of the late Elizabeth (Holeva) and George Shedlock Sr.

Eleanor graduated in 1950 from Houtzdale Woodward High School, and in 1986 from Punxsutawney Beauty School. She was first married on July 28, 1956, to William G. Budihas, who preceded her in death in 1965. She then married John “Jack” McCullough on June 6, 1974. He also preceded her in death on Oct. 13, 1998.

Donald A. Hopkins Jr., 53

Donald “Donny” Allen Hopkins Jr., 53, of Rossiter, Pa., formerly of Burnside, Pa., died Thursday, Dec. 25, 2014, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.

The son of Donald A. and Helen L. (Armstrong) Hopkins Sr., he was born on Oct. 6, 1961, in Indiana, Pa.

Donny graduated from Purchase Line High School, as well as the DuBois School of Trades, where he earned a degree in masonry and contracting. He worked as a mason since 1981. For the majority of his career, Donny had been self-employed, working under the name of Donald Hopkins Masonry.

Everett "Chip" Mack Hopkins, 69

Everett "Chip" Mack Hopkins, 69, of Punxsutawney, died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2014, at home.

He was born on Feb. 8, 1945, in Buffalo, New York, the son of the late James Mack and Marjorie Lucille (Albaugh) Hopkins.

Mr. Hopkins was a U.S. Marine and served in Vietnam.

He married Judith Ann (Long) Hopkins in 1974. She preceded him in death in August 1999.

He was a self-employed construction professional and a member of Union No. 1088 for 32 years.

Regina Marie Cable, 75

Regina Marie Cable, 75, of Reynoldsville, died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2014 as a result of a motor vehicle accident.

She was born on Jan. 27, 1939, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late Steve and Louise M. (Astorino) Yasolsky.

She married Harry “Pete” Edward Cable, a military veteran, on July 23, 1960. He survives her.

She was a devoted, caring and loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She was a magnificent homemaker who took great pride in her home.

Olive J. DeFoor, 91

December 26, 2014

Olive J. DeFoor, 91, Ringgold, died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2014, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.

She was born March 3, 1923, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late Roy and Thelma (Stewart) Caylor.

On June 6, 1946, she married Raymond A. DeFoor, who survives.

She was a member of Saints Cosmas and Damian Roman Catholic Church of Punxsutawney.

She worked as a clerk for Paul Beatty Jewelers for many years.

She enjoyed cooking, baking, reading and dogs.

Olive was also a member of the Ringgold Area Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.

Reynoldsville woman killed in Young Twp. one-car accident near Crawfordtown Road

YOUNG TOWNSHIP — A Reynoldsville woman was killed in a one-vehicle accident that occurred at 4:55 p.m. on Tuesday on Route 310 near Crawfordtown Road, Young Township.

According to PSP-Punxsutawney, a vehicle driven by Regina M. Cable, 75, Reynoldsville, struck a tree and left the roadway while traveling south on Route 310, Young Township.

For unknown reasons, Cable’s vehicle, a 2009 Nissan Altima, was seen traveling off the west shoulder of Route 310, and impacted a embankment.

Gail E. Hockenberry, 64

Gail E. Hockenberry, 64, of Punxsutawney, passed away Monday, Dec. 22, 2014, at UPMC Pittsburgh, after a lengthy illness.

She was born May 13, 1950, in New Kensington, Pa. She was the daughter of the late Harry R. and Carrie E. (Henry) Gaul. She was married to Lee R. Hockenberry, who survives in Punxsutawney.

Gail is also survived by a daughter, Stacey Hockenberry of Latrobe, Pa.

Gail attended Plum Borough Schools, was a member of First Baptist Church in Big Run, and loved the outdoors. She lived most of her life in Punxsutawney.

Mary M. “Bonnie" (Bianco) Britton, 80

December 24, 2014

Mary M. “Bonnie" (Bianco) Britton, 80, of Falls Creek died Monday, Dec. 22, 2014, at Penn Highlands, DuBois.

She was born on Aug. 14, 1934, in Walston, Pa., the daughter of the late Jacob and Pauline (Knopick) Bianco.

Mrs. Britton was a homemaker and devoted mother and grandmother.
