Four former Bell Township Elementary School students were the first to receive scholarships through the Priscilla Bridge Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Thursday evening, PennDOT and consultants from HDR had public plans on display at the Big Run Fire Hall.
The plans were of the U.S. bridge replacements that will be McCracken Bridge, Rock Run Bridge and Big Run Bridge.
These bridges will be replaced in 2016, with a temporary Route 119 road being put in place to help with traffic flow.

Harold O. "Hud" Wetzel, 90, of New Castle, passed away the afternoon of June 3, 2014, at Jameson Hospital.
Born Jan. 21, 1924, in Rossiter, Pa., he was a son of Ray and Mildred Cessna Wetzel.
Surviving at home is his wife of 30 years, Helen Waite Wetzel, whom he married Jan. 5, 1984.
Hud served his country in the Army as a sergeant with the 702nd Tank Destroyer Battalion, receiving the Purple Heart.
He was employed as a heavy equipment operator with Medure's Sand Company.
