Charles M. “Mac” Marshall, 84

Charles M. “Mac” Marshall, 84, Rochester Mills, died Saturday, June 28, 2014, at home.

He was born May 19, 1930, in Armstrong County, a son of the late Truman N. “T.N.” and Mary M. (Mitchell) Marshall.

On Aug. 12. 1960, he married Shirley M. (Miller) Marshall, who survives.

He was a member of the Marchand United Methodist Church.

He enjoyed crocheting, music, cooking, tinkering with things and automobiles.

He graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree from the Clarion State Teachers College in 1957 and went on to receive his master’s degree from Indiana University in 1968.

2014 OLD HOME WEEK PARADE WINNERS

PUNXSUTAWNEY — Mahoning Street was packed Saturday afternoon for the Punxsutawney Fire Department’s 2014 Old Home Week Firefighter’s Parade, an annual tradition in town.

The parade was a success, and here are the winners:

FLOATS, PERFORMANCES
• High School Bands: 1st place, West Branch; 2nd place, Marion Center.

• Senior Baton: 1st place, Firettes.

• Junior Baton: 1st place, Firettes; 2nd place, Commodorettes.

• Junior Drill: 1st place, Cheer Force; 2nd place, KLA.

Red Cross, Music Saves Lives blood drive set for Tuesday in Rossiter

ROSSITER — Every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood.
More than 41,000 donations are needed every day.

To help the American Red Cross reach their goal, two friends are teaming up to unite music lovers and anyone wanting to make a difference.

On Tuesday, July 1, in conjunction with Music Saves Lives, the American Red Cross will host a blood drive for the Rossiter community.

Those who donate will get a unique incentive.

MONDAY, JUNE 30
• 10 a.m.-Noon – Children’s activities (ages 6-12) at the Lattimer House. This year’s theme is “Native America.” Sponsored by Punxsutawney Historical Society.

• 10:30-11 a.m. – Registration for Diaper Derby (Crawling Babies) and for Tot Trot (12-18 months on padded course) Sponsored by: Adagio Health/GFC and Punxsutawney Area Hospital.

• 11-11:30 a.m. – Diaper Derby Race followed by the Tot Trot Race.

• 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. – Dennie Huber, Balloons. Co-Sponsored by Indiana First Bank

•12:30-1 p.m. – Airborne Jugglers
