PUNXSUTAWNEY â When it comes to art, Paul Shaffer has a gift that allows him to create some truly breathtaking pieces.
Shaffer is a member of the Punxsutawney Arts Association, Inc., and at 83
years old, he can create a scene that looks as though it is coming off of the canvas, a scene that makes you stop and look at the amazing details.

Recently the students in Mrs. Diltsâ third-grade class at Punxsutawney Christian School completed a character book report.
The students were required to read a biography and then write a report and create their famous person in history.
Ann Luketich, 92, Punxsutawney, died Monday, May 12, 2014, at Wellington Heights Personal Care Home.
She was born Aug. 8, 1921, in Corbettown, a daughter of the late Jacob and Maria Ferrence Kupak Cholak.
On Nov. 2, 1963, she married Frank Luketich, who survives.
She was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church.
She enjoyed gardening, dining out, sewing, knitting, painting, children, dancing, cooking, baking and canning.
She retired from Integra Bank in 1983.
Cynthia Sue âCindyâ DeLoach, 66, Chino, California, slipped awayÂ peacefully on Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at Kaiser Ontario/Vineyard Hospital, inÂ Ontario, California, following a two-month battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis and pneumonia.
Born June 1, 1947, in Oskaloosa, Iowa, she was the daughter of the late Glen F. Coleman and the late Consuelo (Riggs) Barnes.
On Oct. 31, 1965, in Denver, Colorado, she married Richard Earl âDickâ DeLoach, who survives.
TheyÂ lived in Denver with son, Tate Shannon, and daughter, Tammy Jean, until moving to Chino, California, in 1977.
Betty Frances Wachob Jackson, 91, of Olean Road, passed away Sunday, May 11, 2014, at her home following a lengthy illness.
She had resided on Olean Road for nearly 70 years.
Born July 19, 1922, in Juneau, Pa., she was a daughter of Harry and Barbara Noerr Wachob.
On June 3, 1944, in Columbia, South Carolina, Betty married Henry James Jackson Sr., who died Dec. 31, 1974.
Betty graduated from Bradford Area High School in 1940. She also attended and completed secretarial school at Jamestown Business College.
Robert Eugene Miller, 87, of Brookville, died Monday, May 12, 2014, at home.
He was born Jan. 15, 1927, in Ramseytown, a son of the late Richard Levi and Catherine Margaret (Delp) Miller.
On Oct. 22, 1948, he married the former Evelyn Janet Harris. She preceded him in death on Sept. 17, 2004.
Mr. Miller was a United States Army veteran, having served in World War II.
He worked as an equipment operator for Airco Speer Graphite in St. Marys until his retirement in 1999.
His enjoyments were his family and friends, fishing, hunting and crossword puzzles.
Richard T. Stellabuto, 74, beloved husband of the late Doris Stellabuto, passed away on Saturday, May 10, 2014, at his home in Jessup, Maryland.
He was born on July 21, 1939, in Punxsutawney, to Antonio and Margaret Stellabotta.
Mr. Stellabuto was a computer programmer, for 30 years, at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory.
Virginia M. âTootieâ Wilkins, 81, of Punxsutawney, died Monday, May 12, 2014, at the DuBois Nursing Home, DuBois.
The daughter of Ruben John Ruthstrom and Hester Mary (Fuller) Ruthstrom Hurd, she was born on April 28, 1933, in Glen Campbell, Pa.
A 1951 graduate of the Punxsutawney High School, Virginia went on to graduate from Dorindaâs Beauty School in Indiana, Pa.
She attended the Cloe United Methodist Church.
For a span of 20 years, covering the time period of 1968-1988, Virginia was the owner/operator of Virginiaâs Beauty Salon in Hannibal, Ohio.
