Alpha Delta Kappa, an honorary teacher sorority in Brookville with a membership consisting of active and retired teachers, recently spent several hours at the Emerickville United Methodist Church making school uniforms for children in kindergarten through eighth grade in Ethiopia.

Dollie Elizabeth Smith Barnett, 90, gently passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at Twinbrook Medical Center.
Dollie was born April 23, 1923, in Grange, Pa., the daughter of the late Allene B. and Harry J. Smith.
She lived her entire life in the Punxsutawney area until she moved to Erie in 2001.
Dollie was always known as a very â€śsweet ladyâ€ť who extended kindness and love to everyone. She will be missed by the many people whose lives she touched over the years.
Besides being a housewife, Dollie worked with her husband in their garage, Barnettâ€™s Auto Repair, in Grange, Pa.
Gary Daniel Douthitt, 36, of Mahaffey, Pa., died Monday, March 10, 2014, at the Punxsutawney Area Hospital in Punxsutawney.
The son of Dennis Gary Douthitt and the late Elaine Marie (Rorabaugh) Douthitt, he was born on Feb. 19, 1978, in Punxsutawney.
Gary earned an associateâ€™s degree in HVAC from Penn Tech.
He was a self-employed farmer who raised beef cattle.
He had also been employed at Rorabaugh Lumber Company in Burnside, Pa.
Garyâ€™s main focus in life was his family. He loved spending time with his wife, Sara, and his son, Ethan.
Thomas Jay Gaul, 82, Luthersburg, formerly of the Paradise area, passed away Saturday, March 1, 2014, at Ridgeview Elder Care.
He was born July 27, 1931, in Helvetia, a son of the late Harmon and Bessie Galentine Gaul.
He was married to Grace Lucille Miller Gaul, who preceded him in death.
He was a truck driver for Agway for 27 years, then Sky-Haven Coal for 10 years.
He enjoyed antique tractors, gardening and selling at local Farmers
He resided in Paradise area more than 40 years before moving to Georgia, then to Luthersburg.
