CLEARFIELD â In an unusual scenario to end the season, the Punxsy junior varsity baseball squad found itself in a considerable deficit Friday.
Trailing 7-3, the JV Chucks showcased the stellar offense they have shown all season for what would be a game-deciding five-run sixth inning, before holding the Bison scoreless in the final two frames for an 8-7 season finale victory.
âWhat a great game; back-and-forth lead changes,â pointed out Punxsy JV head coach Rodney Thompson.
With a group of students cheering him on, Punxsutawney Area High School senior Devon Vallies, an AmeriCorps volunteer, is pictured preparing to go down the slide in the bounce house during the annual PTO Reading Carnival at Longview Elementary School recently.
