A New Depot
The B. R. & P. Railway company is preparing to make some extensive improvements in town. A fine new passenger depot, built of brick; is to be erected this summer as well as a new freight depot.
Joshua Michael Martino, 19, South Main Street, DuBois, Pa., died Monday, March 18, 2013, in Hawthorne, Nev., as a result of injuries sustained in a military training mission.
Born on May 28, 1993, in DuBois, Pa., he was the son of Karen (Murdock) Perry of DuBois, Pa., and Vincent Martino of Brockway, Pa. They both survive.
He was a 2012 graduate of DuBois Area High School, where he was a member of the track, football and rifle teams.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.

PUNXSUTAWNEY â The president of the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club Inner Circle, Bill Deeley, said it is his fault that Punxsutawney Philâs forecast might have missed the mark this year.
Punxsy Phil, who is the worldâs most famous weather prognosticating groundhog, has been charged with misrepresentation of spring, a felony âagainst the peace and dignity of the state of Ohio,â according to Cincinnati prosecutor Mike Gmoser.
The Punxsutawney Fire Department will hold its second-annual Gun Raffle on Saturday, April 27, at the National Guard Armory on North Findley Street in Punxsutawney.
Tickets are available from local firefighters, including (from left): Ben Bishop, president of the Punxsutawney Fire Department Gun Raffle Committee; Tony Runco, vice president of the Punxsutawney Fire Department Gun Raffle Committee; and Courtney Cole, treasurer of the Punxsutawney Fire Department Gun Raffle Committee.
Six residents from the Crystal Waters Personal Care Home recently celebrated with a small graduation ceremony.
The residents recently completed the PEER program (Pennsylvania's Empowered Expert Residents), which provides training to residents of long-term facilities.
These residents have been trained to become advocates who will help to improve the environment for their fellow residents.
Thomas Joseph Hudock, 88, of Indiana, died Thursday, March 21, 2013 at the Bethany Place Residential Care Home in Indiana, Pa.
He was born in Anita, Pa., on March 8, 1925, and was the son of the late Michael and Anna Mary (Petrick) Hudock.
He attended grade school in Anita and graduated from Punxsutawney High School in May 1943.
In September 1943, Tom enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Force.
During the Second World War, he served as a radio operator and gunner on B-17s with the 18th Air Force and also on B-29s with the 5th Air Force Division in Saipan.
Donald L. Weaver, 61, of Punxsutawney, died Thursday, March 21, 2013, at home.
He was born July 24, 1951, in Rossiter, a son of the late William G. and Thelma (Bair) Weaver.
He was a bartender, a deejay and previously worked in the produce department of County Market.
He was a 51-year member of the Punxsutawney Fraternal Order of Eagles, where he was a longtime faithful member of the Eagles Bowling and Pool leagues.
Ronald C. "Bubba" Bouch, 80, of Reynoldsville, passed away Thursday, March 21, 2013, at DuBois Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Bouch was born April 15, 1932, in Cambria County, a son of the late Arthur T. Bouch and Eleanor E. (Wolf) Bouch.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Louise (Douthit) Bouch of Reynoldsville.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Reynoldsville and a member of the American Legion Post No. 392 in Reynoldsville.
Emogene Defelice, 86, of Punxsutawney, passed away Thursday, March 21, 2013, at the home of her daughter Lillian, surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Defelice was born April 12, 1926, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late Blair and Erma (Lewis) Sloniger.
She was a member of Ss. Cosmas & Damian Roman Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph "Yates" Defelice.
Emogene enjoyed bingo and taking trips to the casino and loved spending time with her family.
Erma J. Dinger, 79, Punxsutawney, passed on to eternal life on Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at her home following a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born Nov. 5, 1933, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late Clair O. and Florence M. (Holmes) London.
On Oct. 17, 1958, she married her childhood playmate Norman Dinger, who survives. They celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary this past October.
She was a member of the First Church of God of Punxsutawney, where she was a member of the church choir and The Living Christmas Tree.
