William A. Barilar, 61

William A. Barilar, 61, Anita, died Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013, at home.

He was born Feb. 2, 1952, in Punxsutawney, a son of the late William and Matilda K. (Painter) Barilar.

On June 4, 1977, he married Debbie G. Smelko, who survives.

He was a loving husband and father.

He attended St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church in Anita.

He worked as a Quality Control Inspector for Arcadia Industrial.

He enjoyed running, riding bicycles, cars and music (especially The Beatles).

He was a sound man for many local bands, a long-distance runner and an Eagle Scout.

Paul H. Ramsey, 66

September 8, 2013

Paul H. Ramsey, 66, of Karthaus, formerly of Punxsutawney and Dandridge, Tenn., died on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013, at the DuBois Regional Medical Center.

He was born on Dec. 20, 1946 in Knoxville, Tenn., a son of the late Paul and Mildred (Eslinger) Ramsey.

Mr. Ramsey was a founding member of Professional Gas Field, Clearfield, and had been a truck driver for 50 years.
He was very passionate about dirt circle track racing.

He was Protestant by faith.

Rita Marie Heckman, 69

Rita Marie Heckman, 69, of Punxsutawney, died Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013.

She was born April 14, 1944, in Punxsutawney, the daughter of the late Antonio and Domenica (Lorelli) Stellabotta.

Self-taught artist Teresa Ann Flick is at home in nature

Local artist and Punxsutawney Arts Association, Inc. member Teresa Ann Flick (pictured with her work) currently has her artwork on display at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.

The association rotates the hospital exhibits, giving each member a chance to showcase his or her artwork.

Flick is a self-taught artist whose scenery paintings capture true beauty.
