MCCALMONT TOWNSHIP â€”Â Punxsutawney-based Pennsylvania State Police have reported a fatal accident that occurred at 7:40 a.m. on Monday on State Route 310, near Wayne Storage in McCalmont Township.
Police said that William James Duffield, 37, Ridgway, was driving his 2002 GMC Envoy north on State Route 310, and as he was traveling out of the village of Panic, he was negotiating a left curve in the roadway and lost control of his vehicle.
The Punxsutawney Spirit recently held a Baby Contest, and proceeds from that contest were donated to the Expecting You Department of the Punxsu-
tawney Area Hospital.

BROOKVILLE â€” The next Take Back Drug Day will take place at various locations in Jefferson County from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct.
26, Donna Cooper, solid waste/recycling coordinator, announced at the most recent meeting of the Jefferson County Solid Waste Authority.
The locations in Jefferson County where unwanted drugs will be collected include the Jefferson County Courthouse in Brookville, Brockway Drug, Lindsey Fire Station in Punxsutawney and McCabe's Drug Store in Reynoldsville.
Cooper said she would probably put up a recycling display at one of the locations.
Dorothy I. Allenbaugh, 84, Punxsutawney, died Monday, Sept. 30, 2013, at her home.
She was born Jan. 26, 1929, in Johnstown, a daughter of the late Robert A. and Nellie Mae (Dick) Cauffield.
On Nov. 9, 1946, she married Raymond R. Allenbaugh, who preceded her in death on Jan. 10, 1973.
She was a custodian for the Punxsutawney Area School District for 17 years and retired in 1991.
She loved puzzles, watching hockey (especially the Penguins) and spending time with her family.
