Lions Club’s White Cane Day to help provide eyeglasses to those in need

Punxsy Lions Club members said they will be out holding the white canes at the intersection of Hampton Avenue, East Mahoning Street and Front Street by the Central Fire Department and at the Margiotti Bridge from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. Sloniger to take talents to Penn State

PUNXSUTAWNEY— Despite being just a junior, standout catcher Ryan Sloniger already knows where he'll be playing college ball.

Patricia Ann “Trish” Kruckow, 60

Patricia Ann “Trish” Kruckow, age 60, of East Liberty Street in Punxsutawney, died Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013, at her home.

Born on Aug. 19, 1953, in Elmira, NY, she was the daughter of Joseph L. and Ruth N. (Richards) Kruckow. They both survive and live in DuBois.

She worked for many years with the disabled at various group homes in the area.

She enjoyed bowling, yard sales and working outdoors. She loved Groundhog Day and all things related to Punxsy Phil. She also enjoyed coming to DuBois and spending the weekend with her parents.

BREAKING NEWS: Punxsutawney Fire Department on scene of Route 36 structure fire

Crews from all three stations in the Punxsutawney Fire Department were called to a structure fire at 18301 Route 36 on Wednesday around 8:30 p.m.
