Rainbow Express celebrates its 30th year, looks to the future with new teacher

Rainbow Express Nursery School is celebrating its 30th year this year, and at a recent ceremony — concluding last school year’s program — retiring teacher Ruth McNeil (right) was recognized for 22 years of service and given a quilt made of past T-shirts from Rainbow Express.

Rails-to-Trails to host Family Fun and Picnic Day

VALIER — The Punxsutawney Rails-to-Trails Association will be holding its 2nd Annual Mahoning Shadow Trail Family Fun and Picnic Day from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday. The event is free and will be held at the Fordham Trailhead Pavilion in Valier.

Susan Wolfe, secretary of the Rails-to-Trails Association, said that this will be the perfect event for some family fun.

"We thought this particular weekend would be good because a lot of families will be back from vacation, and this is a chance for families to have one last good time before school starts up," said Wolfe.

Diane Robinson Baughman, 91

Diane Robinson Baughman, of Westwood, Mass., formerly of Osterville and Needham, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013, just one week shy of her 92nd birthday.

Diane’s husband, Harry W. Baughman, passed away in 2002.
