At 1:53 p.m., the Department of Emergency Services in Brookville issued a statement asking that all residents stay away from the area of Big Run Borough. Steps are currently being taken to evacuate persons in the borough.
The following state roads are closed in Jefferson County due to flooding and will open once the water recedes.
Route 3001 (Pheasant Hollow Road) is closed in both directions between Route 3014 (Sprankle Mills Road) in Oliver Township and Route 536 in Ringgold Township (Pheasant Hollow Area.)
Route 536 is closed in both directions between Route 36 in Young Township and Porter Road in Perry Township (Hamilton/Frostburg Area.)

Duane Miller (right) of Punxsutawney was chosen as the Rotarian of the Year by the Punxsutawney Rotary Club at its banquet Wednesday night. Robert Allen Meckley, 61, of Punxsutawney, died Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at home.
He was born March 13, 1952, in Natrona Heights, Pa., the son of the late Blair William and Minerva Viola (Cessna) Meckley.
He was married to Rosemary (Boston) Meckley, who survives.
He was employed as a laborer at Thermal-Gard in Punxsutawney.
Margaret R. Jordan, 93, of Covode, died Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at her home.
She was born Nov. 5, 1919, in Canoe Township, a daughter of the late Pearl (Smith) and Adam States.
On March 3, 1941, she married Mervin W. Jordan, who preceded her in death on Feb. 11, 2013.
She was a member of the Covode United Methodist Church.
She loved spending time with her family, growing African Violets, gardening, crocheting, quilting, canning and her little dog, Oreo.
She first worked for Rosenthals and then worked in the junior high cafeteria.
William M. Babco, 74, of Gipsy, PA left this earth on Tuesday, June 25, 2013.
Married to the former Lois Marie (Limrick) on May 28, 1960, he was the father of four daughters: Deborah Horttor, now deceased, Theresa Babco and Scott Huffman, of Richmond Va., Kathryn Miller and husband Patrick of Cherry Tree and Patricia of Boston, Mass.
UNION TOWNSHIP â€” DuBois-based Pennsylvania State Police released the names of two drivers who were killed in a two-vehicle accident on Monday at 12:45 p.m., a half mile west of Mountain Extreme, Inc., in Union Township, Clearfield County.
Police said a 1996 Saturn driven by Jeffrey D. Hoffman, 35, of Dauphin, Pa., was traveling west on State Route 322, and a 2011 Mini Cooper driven by Joyce D. Morse, 62, of DuBois, was traveling east.

PUNXSUTAWNEY â€” Despite the fact that there's no carnival this week, the town of Punxsutawney is still celebrating the Firefightersâ€™ Old Home Week.
The Punxsutawney Spirit will pay tribute to the townâ€™s firefighters who have risked their lives to protect the lives and property of others over the years.
We always hear that volunteer firefighters are on duty 24/7, which includes holidays, but nobody would expect such a thing to happen on what is probably the biggest holiday of the year for so many.
