June 29 will be the second annual Fido 5K to benefit animals in need at the Willow Run Sanctuary for Animals.
Pictured here is the smallest Willow Run resident, Holly, with Margo Stefanic, founder and co-owner of Willow Run Sanctuary for Animals, Inc.
The cost is $20 per runner, and those wishing to participate must sign a waiver.
The event will be held rain or shine, with no refunds.
Donations of dry dog and cat food are appreciated, and boxes will be on site for those wishing to bring those donations.
Before they finished loading a car to transport the group's contributions to the pantry at the Crossroads Shelter, these members of the Jefferson County Chapter of the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees paused with some of the grocery and pantry items collected as part of the state-wide initiative to combat hunger in local communities.

On Friday, members of the Menâ€™s Fraternity of Saints Peter & Paul Byzantine Church (pictured here) set up tents in Adrian in preparation for the church festival to be held this weekend.
The festivalâ€™s hours are from 5:30 to 10 p.m. Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m Sunday.
Troy J. Harper, 43, of Brookville, died at home Friday, June 21, 2013, after a hard-fought two-year battle against cancer.
Born Aug. 8, 1969, in Charleroi, Pa., he was the son of Rose Ann Fronzaglio Harper and the late William Harper.
He was a law partner at Dennison, Dennison & Harper Attorneys at Law.
