Not so fast! Route 119 bridge work to be delayed by utility relocation

PUNXSUTAWNEY — The Route 119 bridge replacement has run into a snag, which could possibly delay the start of the project, it was reported Monday night.

“The road closure, from our information, has been delayed due to the Verizon utility relocation,” said Ben White, Punxsutawney Borough manager, at Monday’s Punxsutawney Borough Council Meeting.

Kids take aim at safety at Youth Field Day

Jefferson County's Youth Field Day, sponsored by the Pennsylvania Game Commission, Northwest Sportsmen for Youth and County Youth Field Day Organizations, was held at Reynlow Park in Reynoldsville on Saturday.

Youth Field Days have taken place annually throughout Pennsylvania since 1991, when they were first held in Venango County.

Anne Pauline Juliette, 96

Anne Pauline Juliette, 96, of Rural Valley, died peacefully on Saturday, June 8, 2013, at Indiana Hospital, surrounded by her loving, caring family.

She was born Nov. 29, 1916, in Yatesboro, the daughter of Antonio and Rose Taddeo Dorazio.

Anne was a Catholic her entire life and belonged to St. Mary Mother of God Church, Yatesboro, Pa.

Anne married Joseph Juliette in 1935, the beginning of a great love affair that lasted until Joe's death in 1995.

Mrs. Sally J. Cameron, 83

Mrs. Sally J. Cameron, 83, of Indian Lake Estates, Fla., died on Friday, June 7, 2013, at The Groves Center.

She was born on Aug. 21, 1929, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of Harold and Emily Altman, and moved to Indian Lake Estates in 1996 from Bridgewater, N.J.

She was a retired real estate broker.

Sally was a golfer and enjoyed playing bridge and taught it to many.

She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a member of Indian Lake United Methodist Church.

Velma “Babe” Keller, 78

Velma “Babe” Keller, 78, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday June 5, 2013, with family around her.

Babe was born Nov. 11, 1934, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of Frank and Leila Harl.

After graduating from Punxsutawney High School in 1952, she attended Westminster College in New Wilmington, Pa., where she served as president of her school’s chapter of Chi Omega Sorority.

After college graduation, she was employed as a case worker for the Children’s Aid Society of Elk County, Pa.
