Always be prepared — for breakfast

Boy Scouts Troop 250 are busy preparing for a Pancake Breakfast that will be held this Saturday at the Big Run War Memorial. The breakfast will include pancakes, sausage and eggs with a choice of milk, orange juice or coffee as a beverage. The cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children 10 and under. All proceeds will be used for the boys to be able to go to summer camp. Rosemarie Palmer, 75

Rosemarie Palmer, 75, Punxsutawney, died Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.

She was born Sept. 9, 1937, in Islin, Pa., a daughter of the late Alfonso and Gladys (Palmer) Gallo.

On Aug. 9, 1982, she married Joseph A. Palmer, who survives.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Punxsutawney.

She was a talented quilter, who enjoyed shopping, reading, traveling, and spending time with her family.

Nicholas Michael Lorenzo, 40

Nicholas Michael Lorenzo, 40, of San Francisco, Ca., passed away on March 2, 2013.

He was born on Nov. 6, 1972, in DuBois, and was raised in Punxsutawney. He was the son of Nicholas F. Lorenzo, Jr., of Punxsutawney and Patricia C. Lorenzo of Aptos, Calif. He is also survived by his brother, Matthew C. Lorenzo, of San Jose, Ca., and his grandmother, Jean D. Lorenzo of Brockway.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Nicholas F. Lorenzo, M.D., and by his maternal grandparents, Harold C. and Helen A. Connare.

Robert M. “Bob” Colkitt, 84

March 13, 2013

Bob Colkitt, 84, of Indiana, formerly of Plumville, went to be with the Lord surrounded by his family on March 9, 2013, in Sarasota Fla. Bob passed peacefully after age caught up with him. He was born on Feb. 24, 1929, in Punxsutawney to Clarence and Sarah Couser Colkitt.

At the age of 15, Bob began a long and successful career in sales by working as a commissioned sales clerk at Montgomery Ward. Bob frequently worked two jobs all through high school. He was the class president and captain of the Punxsutawney High School basketball and football teams when he graduated in 1947.
