December 13, 2013

PUNXSUTAWNEY — There is a saying that “God works in mysterious ways,” and we don't always know why things happen the way that they do, but He does.

For one brave little boy, the battle to survive began the moment he was born.

Mitchell Bartlebaugh was born with what the doctors diagnosed as Pierre-Robin Syndrome, a condition that left him with an underdeveloped bottom jaw and a tongue that fell back into his throat, causing him to be unable to breathe, accompanied by a cleft palate.

Now 3 years old, little Mitchell is a happy little boy, despite what he has had to endure.
